Opal Bernice Ostercamp was born on July 25, 1930, to parents Will and Violet (Bruner) Ostercamp in Sac City, IA. She grew up in Sac City, where she attended grade school and high school. Read More	Opal Schulte, age 90, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View. Opal Bernice Ostercamp was born on July 25, 1930, to parents Will and Violet (Bruner) Ostercamp in Sac City, IA. She grew up in Sac City, where she attended grade school and high school. Opal graduated in 1949 from Sac City High School and then went on to attend banking school in Omaha, NE. On September 10, 1952, Opal married the love of her life, Lloyd Schulte, in Auburn, IA, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. This union was blessed with four children: Steven, Randy, John, and Becky. Lloyd and Opal lived in Dover City, CA, until Lloyd was honorably discharged from the service in 1952. After that, the couple moved to Auburn, IA, where they farmed just north of town. They continued to farm until 1986. Farming wasn’t all that Opal did to help earn a living. She worked at the Chief Print Shop and then at Sac City State Bank, both in Sac City. Later on, she worked at Lakewood Ballroom in Lake View and then Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, IA. When Opal wasn’t working or spending quality time with her beloved family, she enjoyed gardening and always loved sharing what she grew with others. She loved growing flowers, her favorite being African violets, and a good card game always brought a smile to her face. Opal also enjoyed traveling and had fond memories of her trips to Tennessee and Hawaii. While she enjoyed life and liked to keep busy, absolutely nothing brought her greater joy than watching her grandchildren grow up. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Opal was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn, IA. She served as a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society and was also a member of Rosary Makers. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children: Randy (Janelle), John (Gloria), Becky (Gerard); grandchildren: Justin (Nicole), Kristin (Kevin), Anna (Wes), Jacob (Amanda), Jordan; great-grandchildren: Payton, Easton, Emma, Ashlee, Tommy, Marley, Isabella, Evelyn, and Charlotte; sister-in-law, Mary Ann; many extended family members and friends. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, of 52 ½ years, Lloyd Schulte (2005); son, Steven Schulte (1953); grandson, Jeremy Schulte (2013); parents, Will and Violet Ostercamp; siblings: Leonard (Marge) Ostercamp, Linda (Truman) Hiner, Edith (Ed) Bruns, Bessie Ostercamp; brothers-in-law, Lenus Schulte, LeRoy Schulte; sisters-in-laws, Ione (Harry) Kluver, Donita (Arlo) Schrad.
