She passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She attended schools in Redfield. She also worked as a grey lady (aide) at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines and was a child care provider for a few years. She enjoyed dancing in her younger days, fishing, and was a bluegrass music fan. She was a member of the Christian Church and was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra K. (Jon) Flinn of Valley Center, Kan. and Nancy Ann Hackbart of Adel; son John Thomas (Marsha) Turner of Marana, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and another one on the way. Morgan, and a special friend, Bill Mains of Linden. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who called her "Aunt Bopie". She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John French Turner, Jr.; grandson Joshua Hayes Hackbart; brothers Orlin, Samuel and Les Gibler and sisters, Lavona Hurst, Mona Buttrey, Ellen Sittler, Hilda Stonehocker, Evelyn Wagg and Velma Gibler.
