Teeter, daughter of Irvin and Ellen Hill Ritz, was born October 10, 1909 near Floris and departed this life Monday, December 15, 1980, at Klein Memorial Hospital in Burlington at the age of 71. On February 13, 1925 she married Elvert O. Teeter at Fairfield. They operated the Alley Inn restaurant and grocery store there for a number of years. In 1950 they moved to Bonaparte where they operated a grocery store and later a shoe store. They retied to Florida in 1969 and returned to Bonaparte in 1975. Mr. Teeter died in 1976. ... On February 13, 1925 she married Elvert O. Teeter at Fairfield. They operated the Alley Inn restaurant and grocery store there for a number of years. In 1950 they moved to Bonaparte where they operated a grocery store and later a shoe store. They retied to Florida in 1969 and returned to Bonaparte in 1975. Mr. Teeter died in 1976. A daughter, Janet Marshall also preceded her in death. Mrs. Teeter was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church, had been an Eastern Star and had served as Mother Advisor of the Bonaparte Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls. Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, Elvert Teeter, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Bonaparte, three grandsons, Matthew, Ned, and Robert Teeter, three great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Helen Haynes of Lebanon, Missouri, several step and half brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 17, 1980 at 2 p.m. In the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church, with Rev. James Rosendall officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Popejoy, James Sanaghan, Warren Cass, Steve Hainline, Jack Pratt, and Alva Ward. Interment was in Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Bonaparte Public Library. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
