Description	:	Opal M. Clark, 90, a resident of Wenatchee, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at the Parkside Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was born on Dec. 9, 1906, at Mount Ayr, Iowa, to Daniel M. and Rosa Belle (Armstrong) Armstrong. She grew up and received her early education in Iowa and, as a teen-ager, moved with her family to Wenatchee. She was born on Dec. 9, 1906, at Mount Ayr, Iowa, to Daniel M. and Rosa Belle (Armstrong) Armstrong. She grew up and received her early education in Iowa and, as a teen-ager, moved with her family to Wenatchee. It was here in Wenatchee where she completed her education, graduating from Wenatchee High School. Opal then began work with Pacific Bell Telephone as a long-distance operator. On June 29, 1935, she married Melvin E. Clark here in Wenatchee. The couple then moved to Seattle in 1941. Mrs. Clark then began work as a bookkeeper for her and her husband's business, Yale Automotive Service. They both retired from the business in 1975 and remained in Seattle until April of 1991, when they returned to Wenatchee. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Finley Street Christian Church of Seattle for a number of years. She had served as a deaconess in the church. She liked to macrame purses and enjoyed reading. She was especially fond of working on crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Melvin E. Clark, of Wenatchee; her stepson, John Bell; her brother, Alvis Armstrong of Wenatchee; her sister-in-law and husband, Verna and Paul Trull of Wenatchee; and her niece and her husband, Joanne and John Sauer of Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her three sisters, and by two brothers. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors of Wenatchee.
