Description	:	Opal Marie (Sharp) Cummings departed this world at the age of 89 on Oct. 9, 2012. She died at home with her loving family and friends all surrounding as she went to be with the Lord Opal was preceeded in death by her husband Fred Cummings, daughter Charlotte Cummings, mother and father Ernest and Edna Sharp, grandaughter Christina Cummings, sister Vivian Hook and brother Donald Sharp. She was born and raised in Memphis, Oh. (Highland County) and graduated from Reesville High School. She married Fred A Cummings on Aug. 29, 1942 and was a loving mother of 6 children.... Opal was blessed with a very large family which includes; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, extended honorable family of Margi, Bobby and their children and a special niece and nephew Barb and Larry. Opal was a loving mother and housewife who lived most of her life in Paintersville, Jamestown and then Xenia. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her family. This was a regular pass-time she loved, along with listening to the Gospel music of the Gaithers. Opal surrounded herself and often wore all the beautiful shades of purple and her favorite flower Lilacs. Special thanks to Dr. Helena Duque, Dr. Nathan, the staff at GMH, Hospice of the Miami Valley and the Silvercreek Fire Dept. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday Oct. 11 at the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown from 6 until 8 pm. Services, officiated by Pastor Keith Little of the Jamestown Church of Christ, will be 11:00 am on Friday Oct. 12, 2012.
