Description	:	CLINTON - Opal Hicks, 92, of Clinton, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Clinton Chapel-Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will follow in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Opal May Burmeister was born on December 31, 1920, in Clinton, a daughter of Christ and Florence Burmeister. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. Opal married James Hicks on February 1, 1942, in Clinton. He died August 23, 2009. Opal was employed at the Burpee Seed Company in the 1950s and 1960s. Opal was an avid bowler and enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes. She loved to play bingo and go on vacation trips. Opal is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Jim) King of Davenport; two grandchildren, Kevin (Coni) King of Germantown Hills, Illinois, and Daneen (John) McFadden of Bettendorf; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Perry. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
