The life of little Opal was only of a few months duration, when God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to gather the little jewel from its earthly home and from the loving care of a father and mother to be a still brighter jewel in Heaven. That dreadful disease, Cholera infantum seized her and after all was done that could be done, God called her from this life's suffering. We tenderly remember the words of Jesus, 'Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for such is the kingdom of Heaven.' Little Opal has gone from us. We cannot bring her back. So let us live, that when death summons us, little Opal's beckoning hands can welcome us into Heaven. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. F. Patton at the Graham Baptist Church after which the little body was laid to rest in the Groves Cemetery. -- Rev. J. F. Patton."
