Description	:	Opal Vada Akerman, daughter of Sadie and David Akerman, was born near Hedrick on Sept. 11, 1891 and died at the Davis county hospital in Bloomfield on August 26, 1952 at the age of 60 years, eleven months and fifteen days. After spending several years in the Hedrick community she moved with her parents near Douds and spent the rest of her life in that community with the exception of two years she lived in Kahoka, Mo. She was united in marriage on Sept. 25, 1907 to Fred Pool and of this union six children were born: Mrs. Eva Andrews of Marshalltown, Mrs. Margaret Bailey of Selma, Wesley of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Kathryn Weller of Douds, Mrs. Gladys Fite of Floris and Donald who is serving with the armed forces at Camp Hood, Texas. She was a member of the Methodist church of Leando and the Pythian Sister in the Douds temple. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and a brother, Myrle. She leaves her husband, six children, one sister, Mrs. J. W. Blevins of Kansas City, Mo., thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, besides many other relatives. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. They were: Wallace Plowman, Grover Elsensohn, Fred Elsensohn, Jack Blevins, Donald Davis and Myrle Akerman. Burial was in the Leando cemetery.
