She was the sister of: Martha "Mattie" Nora Snow Sullivan, Mary Magdeline "Maggie" Snow Long Richardson, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Snow Allard, Pearl Snow Rouse, Earl Snow Sr., Fannie May Snow Zoller, Homer Ulysses Snow, Bessie Mae Snow Stock, and Charles "Charlie" Richard Snow. She was born in Grundy County, Missouri, to Benjamin Franklin Snow and Clara Ann Dilks Snow. As you can imagine, she was born into a very large family, not uncommon for back then. She was the sister of: Martha "Mattie" Nora Snow Sullivan, Mary Magdeline "Maggie" Snow Long Richardson, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Snow Allard, Pearl Snow Rouse, Earl Snow Sr., Fannie May Snow Zoller, Homer Ulysses Snow, Bessie Mae Snow Stock, and Charles "Charlie" Richard Snow. She also had two half-brothers from her father's first marriage, Joseph Martin Snow and James Franklin Snow. Ora married my grandfather, Robert Lee Long, January 14, 1910, in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois. She was 18 years old, he was 19 years old. They had two sons, one was my father, LeRoy Long and my Uncle, James Franklin Long. Both were born in Sullivan County, Missouri. The family lived on a farm until after January of 1920, when they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. After being here only a few years, my Grandmother Ora filed for a divorce from my Grandfather, in May of 1926. The divorce was granted, and February 11, 1927 she married Guy Wilbur Struthers in Castle Rock, Colorado, in front of Judge John Anderson. They lived at 1807 West Pikes Peak Avenue, on the westside, now called "Old Colorado City". They were married for over 10 years, possibly up until his death (his newspaper obituary didn't mention a spouse). My grandmother may have divorced him as well, as she married for a third time to John L. Griffith on the 10th of December, 1952. The only record I have of this marriage is the certificate. I remember my Grandmother as a single woman when I was young, and she always said all of her husbands were "no good". So I am thinking she divorced John Griffith as well. Grandma did ok for herself, although she worried too much about me and turned into a bit of a hypochondriac. She was very giving, and spoiled me always. I remember spending weekends with her and how we would take the city bus to go shopping downtown. We'd have lunch at Woolworth's or a little cafe I can't remember the name of....or maybe we would walk across the street from her apartment on Colorado Avenue to the five and dime store and have a chocolate ice cream soda. I can still taste them to this day. I married (Grandma bought my wedding dress) and when I was expecting my first child, she bought a bassinet and mattress for the baby. Unfortunately, we had to move to southern California for my then husband's job. While we were away, my parents had to admit Grandma to a nursing home because she could no longer care for herself. She would strike out on the bus and forget her way home, and she started having many physical problems. She died before we moved back to Colorado Springs, in 1986.
