Description	:	Orin Winter service set for Friday Clear Lake - Orin S. Winter, 87, barber in Mason City for 55 years, died Monday evening at Moose Haven, Orange Park, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ward's Funeral Home, Clear Lake. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. The body is expected to arrive Thursday afternoon. Mr. Winter was born Jan. 5, 1874, at Charlesbury, England, son of Charles and Martha Winter. They came to the United States in 1880 and he settled with his parents near Thornton. Mr. Winter operated a grocery wagon at Fertile four years and in 1898 learned thebarber trade at Kensett. He was a barber in Mason City from 1900 to 1955. He was married to Alice Pence March 22, 1900 in Mason City. She preceded him in death. He was married to Jessie Vincent June 11, 1956. Following his second marriage, they moved to Britt, and he barbered there until 1959. Following the death of his second wife, he entered the Moose Haven home in 1960. He was a member of the Mason City Moose Lodge. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. William Muhlstein, and Mrs. Charles Moon, and a nephew, Leon Winter, all of Mason City. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers, two sisters, and both of his wives. Mason City Glove Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, Wednesday, June 7, 1961.
