Description	:	Accident last Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a Winnebago county road department employee, Orland S. Johnson, 59. Winnebago county Sheriff Donald O. Vold reportd that Johnson was pinned beneath the box and frame of a county truck when he was unloading dirt for a farm driveway approximately ten miles northeast of Forest City. Fµneral services for Mr. Johnson were held Monday afternoon at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Leland, with the Rev. Milo Lee Officiating. Mrs. Wayne Ambroson served as organist and Wayne Ambroson was soloist. Casket bearers were Einar Gilbertson, A. L. Heeren, Edward Hope, Donald Olson, Merle Severson and Herman VerHoef. Interment was at the Forest Home cemetery with Olson-Peterson Funeral Home of Forest City in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Johnson was born in Winnebago county on July 31, 1921, the son of John and Selma (Langerud)Johnson. He was baptized at West Prarie Lutheran church. He attended rural school in Winnebago county. On June 30, 1940, he was married to Eva Haugen at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Leland. For several years Mr. Johnson farmed the Leland area and worked at the Leland Elevator. Sine 1966, he had been employed by Winnebago county. Mr. Johnson is servived by his wife, Eva; their four children-Mrs. Herman (Donna Lou)Gerdes of Clear Lake; Gayle Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Marshall (Sherry) Bredeson of Leland; and Kevin Johnson of Leland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson of Crystal Lake; three brothers; Marvin Johnson of Hayfield; Maynard Johnson of Crystal Lake; and Jerry Johnson of Belmond; a sister Mrs. Choen (Norma) Brock of Leland and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Johnson, in July of this year.
