Mr. Van Horn is survived by a son Edward (Suzie) Van Horn of Findlay, and a daughter Mrs. Phyllis (Linn) Tate of Stow, OH; and a nephew, Jim (Trudy) Benedict of Omaha, NB. There are 5 grandchildren; Jason Tate, Chad Van Horn, Melanie Missler, Corey Van Horn, Courtney Van Horn., and 8 great grandchildren.. Also surviving are3 brothers Francis (Martha) Van Horn of Findlay, Carl (Theresa) Van Horn of Oswego ,NY; and Robert (Doris) Van Horn of North Baltimore, OH; Mr. Van Horn was preceded in death by an infant son Larry J, and 4 sisters Helen Wolf, Bernice Benedict, Mildred Gerdeman, Phyllis Van Horn. Mr. Van Horn worked as a set up man for 15 years at the Metal Forge in Deshler when he retired. He was also a fireman, and a farmer. Mr. Van horn drove school bus for McComb Local School and Hoytville School for 25 years retiring in 1971. He was a WWII US Army Air Corp veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 316 in Deshler; and he was a member of the 3 C's. Mr. van Horn was a member of the McComb First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Van Horn was an avid sports watcher especially football and baseball. Visitation will be on Monday November 8, 2010 4-8 p.m. at the HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME in McComb. The funeral service will be on Tuesday November 9, 2010 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Janeane Hopkins officiating. Burial will take place in McComb Union Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
