Description	:	Orlie L. Scranton, age 97 of the Danville Care Center passed away at 5:45 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at the Care Center. Born November 26, 1904 in Foster, NE he was the son of Frank A. and Lunetta Grace Blighton Scranton. He married Winifred Fogler on June 6, 1931. She died in 1976. He then married Beatrice Collier on October 7, 1918. She died in 1995. Mr. Scranton was educated at Plainview High School and continued his education at Wayne State Teachers College. Scranton, age 97 of the Danville Care Center passed away at 5:45 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at the Care Center. Born November 26, 1904 in Foster, NE he was the son of Frank A. and Lunetta Grace Blighton Scranton. He married Winifred Fogler on June 6, 1931. She died in 1976. He then married Beatrice Collier on October 7, 1918. She died in 1995. Mr. Scranton was educated at Plainview High School and continued his education at Wayne State Teachers College. He furthered his education by doing his graduate work at UNL. He spent his career as a High School Teacher & Administrator in Nebraska, Iowa and California. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include one son, Gene Scranton of Fremont, CA; three daughter's in-law Patricia Scranton of Stockton, CA, Marge Scranton of Coralville, and Brenda Scranton of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wives he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jim and Bill, six brothers, and two sisters. There will be no visitation. The Funeral Service for Mr. Scranton will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at the Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview, NE with the Reverend George Kilmer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview, NE.
