Reinert, age 98, passed away April 2, 2014 at Home Place in Burlington. She grew up in Edison and Allen areas and was a life long resident of Skagit Valley. She enjoyed gardening and had a reputation for her special canned green beans and dill pickles. She was a great seamstress, and made many quilts, clothes, costumes and lots of patching for the family. Orpha married Fred Reinert on June 3, 1939 at Sacred Heart parish in LaConner. She was also a long time member of St. Charles parish in Burlington. Orpha is survived by her daughter Patti Dynes and her companion Doug Hawley; grandchildren, Michael Dynes and his wife Jodi, Colleen Dynes and her companion Craig Mullen; great grandson, Matthew and wife Lisa and her children Colby and Shelby Swanberg; great granddaughters, Molly Jo Dynes and Delaney Anne Dynes; sister-in-law, Joan Dickhaus and Margaret Reinert; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 404 Douglas Street, LaConner. A reception will follow and a committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Bow Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Northwest, 227 Freeway Drive, Suite A, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
