Orra was born on Nov. 23, 1912, in Pryor, OK., He came to Montana in his late teens, working at various jobs in Yellowstone County. In 1941 he married Dorothy Cox from Ballantine, MT. He began working construction in 1949 and was a heavy duty master mechanic, building electric power lines in Alaska, Canada and the Western states. He retired in 1970 1ne came to make his home in the Bitterroot. Having lived here for 31 years, he was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy, at the family home in Hamilton, MT. son Ron, and his wife Carolyn of Victor, MT., daughter, Cora and her husband Wally Schumacher of Warren. OR.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers. As he wished, no services will be held that he loved. Private family scattering of the ashes will take place over the mountains that he loved. Orra's family suggest memorials to Marcus Daly Hospice of the Bitterroot, Hamilton, MT. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly - leach Chapel.
