Description	:	Rites were held in Mills Wednesday, September 29, at 2 p. m. for Orrace Knapp, 54, who passed away suddenly of a heart attack. Rev. John Rempel officiated. He and Mrs. Rempel sang "The Old Rugged Cross", "How Can I Be Lonely" and "Beyond The Sunset", with Mrs. Grace Canaday accomnpanying. Pallbearers were Earl Sylvester, Gib Gates, Mike McCumber, Don Marvin, Elmer Davis, and Elmer Randall. Interment was in the Mills cemetery. Orrace Otto Knapp was born on June 11, 1900, at Brocksburg, Nebraska, and passed away at Long Pine, Nebraska, on September 26, 1954, at the age of 54 years, 3 months and 15 days. He spent the most of his life in and around the Mills community, till moving to Long Pine in 1948. He was united in marriage to Elta Louise Ritterbush June 11, 1924. To this union were born one son, William Lewis, and one daughter, Nadein Marjorie. Besides his daughter and son, he leaves to mourn his passing, three grandchildren, Pamela Sue and Denise Christy of St. Louis, Mo., and Galen Hull of Hastings, Nebr.; five sisters, Mrs. Maxine Lingo, Blair Nebr.; Mrs. Josephine Wicker, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Jean Doyle, Igloo, S. D., and Mrs. Emmett Doyle, Burke, S. D. Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Lewis and Bertha Knapp. The passing of Orrace has come as a sudden shock to the entire community. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was of an understanding and loving disposition, and ready to lend a helping hand to one in need. A loved one from us is gone, A voice we loved so dear A place is vacant in our hearts Which never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled The boon his love had given And though the body slumbers here His soul is safe in heaven.
