Orrie Oscar Starr, son of Leander S and Alice McDonough Starr, was born in Greene county, Iowa May 23, 1883. He was about 7 years old when the family moved to Sac county and was 10 years of age when they located on the farm two miles northeast of town, which has been the family home ever since. In addition to the education received in the local schools, he attended Buena Vista college, Storm Lake and Drake university, Des Moines. Since the death of his father in 1936, he made the home for his mother, who passed away in 1940. Since that time he has remained alone. He leaves to mourn his death two sisters: Mrs Belle McIntosh and Mrs A.K. (Stella) Rininger, and a group of distant relatives.
