Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Assembly Church, Powers Lake. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 until service time in the church. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Powers Lake. Orris was born September 23, 1918 in Powers Lake to Martin and Anna (Garness) Enget. He was raised and attended school near Powers Lake. Orris married Dolores Watterud on October 12, 1943. They resided on their farm 1 ½ miles from Powers Lake. Orris and Dolores had also owned and operated the Lake View Hotel and D and O Standard Station. He was once employed by the Powers Lake Elevator, Cactus Concrete and Oil Field Service. Orris was a horse lover and raised Quarter horses. He was never without a horse until he was 85 years old. Orris was an active member of Lake Assembly and served as Deacon for 65 years. He served on the Federal Land Bank Board for 30 years, the Township Board and the Historical Society Board. Orris was also an active member of the Powers Lake Saddle Club, the Arena Club and was on the board of directors of the Senior Citizens Club. He is survived by his wife, Dolores and daughter, Bonnie. Orris was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Anna Enget; brothers, Joseph, Lester, Kenneth, Ernest, Ellsworth and Alton; sisters, Lila, Mildred, Agnes and Judith; nephews, Kenneth Jr., Travis Ward and LeRoy Enget.
