Mr. Yockey, 50, died suddenly at his home Tuesday afternoon, August 28, 1951. Conlin read the requiem mass and paid tribute to Mr. Yockey's life. Burial was in Mount St. Joseph's cemetery under the direction of the Hudgel funeral home. Members of the senior class and their co-sponsors, Supt. C.H. Bones and Maurine Coughlin, acting principal, and members of the freshman class of the Anthon High School and their sponsor, coach Frank Miller, Jr., attended the funeral service in a group. Pallbearers were Frank Schuh, Gerald Eyer, William McNamara, N.B. Theobald and Jack McNamara of Anthon and Clay Beymer of Lawton. Flowers were cared for at the graveside by Frances, Lois and Wilma Short of Bronson. Orval Emil Yockey was born March 19, 1901, near Anthon, the son of Emil and Evie Yockey. April 10, 1928, he was married to Marie McNamara. To this union were born five children, Calista, Mildred, Philip, Evie Joann and Joyce, all at home. Surviving are the widow and five children; six sisters, Mrs. Effie Wiedeman of Sioux City, Mrs. Opal Madsen and Mrs. Lola Hill of Anthon, Mrs. Mabel Weaver of Evanston, Illinois, Mrs. Glatha Petersen of Mapleton, and Mrs. Dorothy Goodman of Correctionville; five brothers, Floyd of Sioux City, Clifford, Forrest, Gerald and Clelland of Anthon.
