Funeral Services have been Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church near Wayland with Pastor Robert Hartzler officiating. Burial was in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Orval was born December 5, 1920 near Wayland to Amasa & Katy (Reschly) Miller. The youngest of ten children he weighed in at 13 lbs. He was raised on the family farm near Wayland and attended grade school at Wayland and was taught by his older brother Orie. He was united in marriage to Alberta M. Boese July 11, 1943 at an early morning ceremony at her parent's home near Wayland. As a child he attended the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church and was a faithful member his whole life. He was a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and Youth Counselor. Orval was on the committee to build the Parkview Home as well as the new Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. He started out being a farmer and when health concerns arose, he became a plumber. He and his wife owned and operated Orval Miller Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years before her retired. After retiring en enjoyed fishing, put puzzles together and do word search puzzles. He especially enjoyed visiting with people and teasing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Alberta of Wayland, sons, Stanley L. Miller and wife Karole of Wayland, Steven J. Miller and wife Rhonda of Wayland, Sheldon R. Miller and wife Lori of Wayland; daughter Lucy A. Leichty and husband Irvan of Wayland; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Leona Leichty, Susan Troyer, Vera Schlatter, Ruth Greiser and Lenora Miller and four brothers, Orie, Mahlon, Paul and Melvin Miller
