He was born March 23, 1921 in Arma, KS the son of Calvin and Sarah (Penn) Puckett. On Nov. 10, 1942 he was united in marriage to Lois E. Bell; she preceded him in death on January 9, 2000. Read More	Orvil Albert Puckett, 94 of Fairland, OK formerly of Pittsburg, KS died at 2:05 am Tuesday, July 22, 2015 at the Integris Hospital in Grove, OK. He was born March 23, 1921 in Arma, KS the son of Calvin and Sarah (Penn) Puckett. On Nov. 10, 1942 he was united in marriage to Lois E. Bell; she preceded him in death on January 9, 2000. Orvil was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII where he was inducted on Aug. 5, 1942. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He fought in Rhineland and received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Ribbon and a Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 2, 1946. Orvil was a Serviceman for the Kansas Gas Service for 30 years, retiring in 1979. He was also a Reserve member of the Crawford County Sheriffs Dept. in the late 70’s under Sheriff Jim Sellers and Undersheriff Lynn Fields. Survivors include two sons: Steve and Rick (Rose) Puckett all of Fairland, OK; three grandchildren: Shannon Bakken, Travis Puckett and Becky Magnus; five great-grandchildren: Brady Nevers, Taytum Nevers, Wyatt Puckett, Memphis Magnus and Cash Magnus. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, two brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be 11am, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home one hour before service time beginning at 9:45 am.
