Description	:	Orvil Henry Turner is the son of Henry J. Tuner and Celinda Adelaide (Sanders) Turner. Orvil was a retailer and a 32nd Degree Mason. He attended Sigourney, Iowa schools and started to work at the age of seventeen with various clothing firms until, 1909, when he and two cousins Leo and Lonnie Pfaff formed the Turner-Pfaff Clothing Store in Sigourney. In 1892, Orvil married Fannie May Alberson of Washington, Iowa. The business was discontinued in 1941, when Orvil died. Orvil was known to hundreds of Sigourney and Keokuk County residents as "Pet." Where this nickname originated is not known. His obituary, in the weekly newspaper of Thursday, October 9, 1941 closed with this: "As a tribute to the former business man, the local business houses were closed during the services last Saturday afternoon. The Masonic Lodge also paid tribute with resolutions of condolence draw up by a committee - H.F. Wagner, G.G. Shanafelt, Harry L. Shakenberg."
