Description	:	Orville was the son of Lorenzo & Augusta Allen. He married Alfrieda Becker in 1910. They lived in Stanton county where Orville first farmed with his brothers and later he was a laborer and drayman in Pilger, NE. *Jim Bahm generously shared the following information and obituary, his uncles were friends of Orville and as young men would help Orville pick, sell (and eat) his locally grown watermelons; they also worked for him helping to scoop coal into his wagon, that he would then sell and deliver in the area. Allen, 83, of Pilger were set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shultz-Vogel Mortuary in Stanton. The Rev. H.M. Roth will officiate. Pallbearers are Joe and Lige Klima, Ray Hipp, Harold Hansen, Herman and Ron Willers. Burial will be in the Stanton Cemetery. Orville A. Allen was born March 26, 1885, on a farm near Howells, and died at our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk Saturday. He had been taken to the hospital Saturday morning by the Pilger ambulance. On March 30, 1910, he was married to Frieda Louisa Becker of Stanton. They resided on a farm near Pilger before moving to Pilger in March, 1919. Mr. Allen was a drayman in Pilger for many years. Mrs. Allen died Oct. 8, 1940. The couple had no children. The known survivors include a sister, Mrs. Edna McGraw of North Platte and a nephew, Gene Baber of Norfolk.
