Description	:	Orville Aten Brattain, son of Homer and Minnie Brattain was born in the Sewal Community on October 10, 1900. He passed away July 16, 1973 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 72 years, nine months, and six days following surgery performed at Wayne County Hospital on July 6th. The early part of his life was spent in the Sewal are later moving to Moline, Illinois where he retired from John Deere company in 1962. Read More	Orville Aten Brattain, son of Homer and Minnie Brattain was born in the Sewal Community on October 10, 1900. He passed away July 16, 1973 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 72 years, nine months, and six days following surgery performed at Wayne County Hospital on July 6th. Following his retirement he moved to Corydon, Iowa and spent the remainder of his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are his wife Josephine of Corydon, three daughters: Mrs. Emil (Loretta) Weirton, of West Virginia, Mrs. Ralph (Rowena) Hecks of Moline, Illinois, and Mrs. Robert (Colleen_ Ernst, San Diego, California, two step children, Mrs. Clinton Adams of Coin, Iowa and Paul Lucas of Burlington Jct., Missouri, 12 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Margie Klinginsmith now living in Banning, California, and other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by all. Services were held on Thursday, July 19, 1973 at 2:00 p.m. from the Liggett-Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour, with the Rev. Joseph Ricks officiating. The pallbearers were Richard L. Lawton, David E. Lawton, Donald L. Lawton, Pasquale K. Anella, Mark R. Hicks, and Larry J. Adams. Interment was in the Shriver cemetery. unknown newpaper
