Description	:	(Mapleton Press 11 December 1958) Orville Eugene Zediker, son of Louis and Charollet Zediker, was born June 4, 1894 at Mapleton, Iowa and died Wednesday, December 3, 1958 at a Sioux City hospital at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was the second child in a family of seven children. He attended school in Mapleton. On April 10, 1917, he enlisted in the Army and was discharged May 3, 1919. He was the second child in a family of seven children. He attended school in Mapleton. On April 10, 1917, he enlisted in the Army and was discharged May 3, 1919. Mr. Zediker had barbered in Mapleton and Sioux City since 1942. He was married to Gertrude Bramble in El Paso, Texas, August 2, 1918. One son and one daughter was born to this union. He was a member of Loren Hollister Post 496 of the American Legion at Mapleton. Survivors include the widow, one son, Lou of Mapleton; one daughter, Mrs. Sam (Norma) Postma of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers, William and Roy of Mapleton; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Atterbury of San Diego, California, Mrs. Allie Bouslaugh of Onawa and Mrs. Frances Kenley of Sioux City, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Funeral services were held Friday, December 5, at St. John’s Methodist Church with Rev Byron W. Ayers officiating. Pallbearers were Louis Leisinger, Louis Godberson, Ralph Hunsaker, Chris McEvers and Barney Sonksen. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery under direction of the Walter Funeral Home. Military rites were held at graveside by Loren Hollister Post No. 496 of the American Legion of Mapleton.
