Description	:	Knox Man Dies in Accident A rural Niobrara man was killed late Tuesday morning, July 29, when the tractor he was operating upset, partially pinning him underneath, the Knox County Sheriff's Department reported. Orville Arneson, 62, was discovered by a neighbor about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. The accident was believed to have occurred about 15 minutes earlier, a department spokesman said. No autopsy has been requested. ******** Services were held Saturday at 10:a.m. at the Niobrara Lutheran Church for Orville Harry Arneson with Military Honors by the VFW Post 4834 of Niobrara. The Rev. Floyd W. Anderson officiated. Orville Harry Arneson, the son of Arne T. and Helga Fagerli Arneson, was born March 30, 1918 on the Arneson homestead at Niobrara. He received bapstism in the name of the Triune God on May 12, 1918 and was confirmed in the Christian fatih at the Niobrara Norwegian Lutheran Church on Nov. 14, 1937. He attended rural School District # 87. He was inducted into the United States Army and served during WWII. He was decorated with the American Defense Service Medal, the American Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received his honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal at Fort Logan, Colo. on Jan. 13, 1946 and returned home to farm with his father. A charter member of Benner-Lawrence VFW Post #4834, he was currently holding the office of Senior Vice Commander. On Feb. 14, 1954 Orville was united in marriage with Irene Schuett at Christ Lutheran Church in Bazile Mills. To this union were born two sons. He was a faithful church member, serving for six years on the Church Council. He was also elected Clerk of Raymond Township and was still serving in this capacity. He passed away Tuesday morning, July 29, 1980 on his farm eight miles west of Niobrara at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Irene; two sons, William of Lincoln and Dean L. of Omaha; three sisters, Julia Tschirren of Niobrara, Amy Schlote of Niobrara and Elvera Kotrba of Webb, Ia.; two brothers, Edward Arneson of Norfolk and Lester Arneson of Kirkland, Wash.
