Description	:	Kretzmeier Orville I,. Kretzmeier, 57, 606 S. Washington, died of cancer early Friday, July 14, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., where he had been a patient since June 2. Mr. Kretzmeier had been in failing health for the past 18 months. Mr. Kretzmeier was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Broughton and moved to Clay Center with his parents at an early age. Mr. Kretzmeier had been in failing health for the past 18 months. Mr. Kretzmeier was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Broughton and moved to Clay Center with his parents at an early age. He graduated from the Clay Center High School in 1938 and the University of Kansas School of Business in 1942. He married Jean Taddiken August 7, 1943. After serving in the Army Air Force during World War II for three years, he began work as an accountant in 1946 in Topeka with Ralph Houser as a partner. In 1947 the Kretzmeiers moved to lola and Mr. Kretzmeier started the Kretzmeier Accounting firm which later became known as Kretzmeier and McCammon, Accountants, when Duane McCammon joined him as a partner. Mr. Kretzmeier was a civic leader, serving as president of the lola Jaycees, president of, the lola Chamber of Commerce, and as secretary of the Allen County Fair Board for a number of years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, lola Elks Lodge No. 569, American Legion Post No. 15, and the National Society of Public Accountants. Survivors besides Mrs. Kretzmeier are two sons, Greg and Jay, both of Lawrence; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Diane) Catron of Tulsa; mother, Mrs. Mildred Kretzmeier, Clay Center; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Huck, Glendale, Calif., and a granddaughter, Leslie Catron. The funeral service will be at 10:30 Monday morning at the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. William Baldwin will officiate, with burial at Highland Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society and they may be left at the Waugh-Yokum Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
