Description	:	Orville "Corky" Lester Draayer, 72, of Chatsworth, died Friday, January 26, 2001, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City. Memorial services were held on Monday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Hawarden. Rev. Stuart Schreur officiated. Memorial services were held on Monday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Hawarden. Rev. Stuart Schreur officiated. Orville "Corky" Lester Draayer was born August 7, 1928, at Maynard, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Elsie (Pronk) Draayer. The family moved to the Orange City area where Orville grew up and attendec country school. He helped on the family farm and then joined the U.S. Navy. Orville retured to the Orange City area and married Donna Strong on July 18, 1953, at Vermillion, S.D. The couple moved to ARtesia, Califonia where he worked on a apainting crew. The couple then moved to Hawarden where he worked for various masonry companies until starting his own masonry company n 1977. He retired in 1989 due to ill health. After retirement, Orville began an Iron Recycling Business in Chatsworth where they lived. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, motorcycling and snowmobiling. His last hunting trip turned out to be very memorable as he shot two deer with one shot last December. Surviving relatives include his wife Donna of Chatsworth; three sons, David and his wife Dawn of Chatsworth, Jerry and special friend Joyce of Hawarden and Stacy of Chatsworth; two daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Gary Cernohous of Ihlen, Minn, and Melissa and Gary DeJager of Orange City; a son, Clark Boddy of Sioux City; and a daughter, Judy Wiltgen of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; a brother, John Draayer of Ireton; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Peaches the dog. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Harold; and special uncle John Pronk. Sioux County Capital Democrat - 1 February 2001
