Kolbo was born September 19, 1912 to John and Anna (Olson) Kolbo at Crocker, S.D. While in grade school, his family moved to Langford, S.D., where he attended school, graduating from Langford High School in 1932. During the summers while in high school, he worked prt time on the Milwaukee Railroad section gang and for one summer he worked for Nels Ramsa in his grocery store and produce station, Lake City, S.D. He started his own produce business in Claremont, with the help of his father in 1932. He married Isabel Cooley, Claremont, September 18, 1934 at Aberdeen, S.D. Orville and Isabel sold their business known as Community Produce (later known as Claremont Locker), December 30, 1975 to Dale and Judy Wieker. Orville continued as a salesman for Pioneer Hi Bred International Inc., until he retired in 1984, after being in business for 43 years. Orville was confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Langford, April 7, 1929. He became a member of the United Methodist Church, Claremont, April 8, 1984. He served on the Claremont Town Board for numerous years. In his later years, he raised a large garden, sharing it with his neighbors. Survivors include his wife, Isabel, Claremont; two sons, Jack Kolbo, Pierre, and Tom Kolbo, St. Cloud, Minn.; two brothers, Hiran Kolbo and Juel Kolbo, both of Aberdeen; one sister, Mrs. Rodney (Frances) Cameron, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandsons, Kirk Kolbo, Minneapolis, Minn.; Stan Kolbo, Pierre; Thomas John Kolbo and John William Kolbo, St. Cloud, Minn.; one granddaughter, Jacquelyn Kolbo Smith and two great grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jessica Smith, all of Alburquerque, N. M. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Honorary casketbearers are his many friends. Active casketbearers are Kirk Kolbo, Stan Kolbo, Thomas Kolbo, John Kolbo, Monte Kolbo and Dennis Nelson. Ushers are Roger Schuller, Tom Dunlavy and Gary Lenling. Organist is Joan Thompson and pianist is Yvonne Gibbs. There will be a trio, Joan Thompson, Yvonne Gibbs and Sue Stanley, accompanied by Faye Stohr.
