Description	:	Blue Hill resident Orville M. Meyer, 83, died Sunday September 19, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Services are 10:30 a.m. at Wanda Zion Lutheran Church in rural Juniata with the Rev. Harold King officiating. Burial with military rites by A.L. Shirley Post #176 of Blue Hill will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Blue Hill. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Merten-Butler Mortuary n Blue Hill and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to Wanda Zion Lutheran Church or to the family. Orville was born on March 3, 1927, to Edward and Anna (Sommerfeld) Meyer in Blue Hill, Nebraska. He attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School. He served n the army during WWII from August 7, 1945 to January 21, 1947. He then returned to the family farm. He married Barbara Jean Parratt on June 6, 1959. He farmed his entire life and he and Barbara moved into Blue Hill from the farm in 1983. She died on Oct 10, 1989. He then married Leonette (Jacobitz) Koblela on July 28, 1990. She died on January 3, 2007. He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska, and was currently a member of Wanda Zion Lutheran Church, Juniata Nebraska. He was also a member of A.L. Shirley Post #176, Blue Hill, Nebraska. In addition to his children and grandchildren, one of the greatest joys in his life was making music. He played in many jam sessions at various places throughout the region providing entertainment. He has earned many trophies as well as being invited to play on the TV show "Nebraska's Good Life". As much as he enjoyed his earthly life he didn't neglect his spiritual life. Anyone who knew Orville could attest to his strong faith. He is survived by two sons, Martin Lee Meyer and his wife Marilyn of Hastings, Nebraska. Lavern Dale Meyer and his wife Bernice of Blue Hill, Nebraska; two sisters, Edna Burge of Campbell, Nebraska and Elva June Jacobitz of Blue Hill, Nebraska; four grandchildren, David Meyer of Chester, Nebraska, Kelli Meyer of Blue Hill, Nebraska, TaDawn Meyer of Sutton, Nebraska; four great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives, two brothers, Gerhardt and Herbert Meyer; two sisters, Anita Potts, and Delores Meyer.
