Orville Prater, 73, of Middlepoint, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at VanWert County Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1929 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Newte and Essie (Holbrook) Prater.
On October 10, 1952 he married Ruth Thatcher, who survives in Middlepoint.
Other survivors include three brothers: Luther Prater of California, Hershel (Eileen) Prater of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Don (Helen) Prater of Cleveland, Georgia.
Mr. Prater was in charge of Ward 21 at Lima State Hospital. He was a member of the Auglaize United Baptist Church, Maysville.
