He is survived by his son, Gordon Hiltz (Paula), Halifax; grandchildren, Jeff Hiltz (Kim Kelley), London, England; Michelle Kostya (Anton), Milton, Ont., and very special great-grandson, Owen Kostya. Osbourne is also survived by sisters, Joyce Woodroffe (Jack), Halifax; Daisy Brannen (Jack), Lantz. He was predeceased by brother, Ronald Hiltz (Leota) (Marriott's Cove); sisters, Levannah Miller (Eric) (Lunenburg), Muriel Manganiello (Neil) (White Plains, N.Y.), and Elizabeth Hiltz (Marriott's Cove). Osbourne and Marian lived in Marriott's Cove all of their married life, where they shared a special loving relationship. They cherished their family and neighbours, and took great pride in their home and gardens. Osbourne was employed at Acadia Construction for 28 years and later 11 years at the Anil Hardwood Plant, East River. After retirement, he dedicated his hard work and time to his beautiful gardens, including a diverse crop of fruits and vegetables that he and Marian shared generously with neighbours, family and friends. Up until two years ago, Osbourne could be seen mowing his lawn, clearing snow and even chopping firewood. When he lost his wife, Marian, in 2005 after 69 years of marriage, a major void was created in his life. Their dedication and love for each other was obvious to everyone. Special thanks to sisters-in-law, Bernice O'Flynn (John) and Marjorie Vaughan (Stan), Halifax; and niece, Marilyn and Bill Stevenson, for their much appreciated support over the years. Cremation will take place under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date.
