In the year 1906 he moved to Antelope county and located at Brunswick, Nebr., where he became the village blacksmith. After 2 years residence he moved to Royal, Nebr. and then to Center. Since that time he began... Read More	Oscar Welch Dies at Norfolk Hospital, Funeral Sunday Oscar A. Welch, son of John S. Welch and Katherine, nee Rogers, was born at Waukee, Iowa, October 21, 1873. In the year 1906 he moved to Antelope county and located at Brunswick, Nebr., where he became the village blacksmith. After 2 years residence he moved to Royal, Nebr. and then to Center. Four years later he moved to Bazile Mills, where he continued to follow his trade. Last summer he had the misfortune of being almost overcome by fumes from the poison in grasshopper bait. Since that time he began to fail and no treatment brought about any improvement. Exactly three weeks before his death he was taken to a Norfolk hospital. His end came on last Thursday morning shortly after five o'clock. Heart trouble with other complications are said to have caused his death. He reached the age of 66 years, 1 month and two days. His death is mourned by his widow, two brothers, George of Norfolk and Roy at Cawiche, Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Gatz of O'Neill, Neb.; Mrs. Susie Beveridge, Commerce, Iowa; Mrs. Ida Davy, Garygrla (Grygla??), Minn.; Mrs. E.B. Lister, Linden, Iowa; one brother-in-law, George Rodgers, Norfolk, Neb. and other relatives. The body was brought to Creighton on Thursday by Hengstler & Son, morticians, and later taken to his home in Bazile Mills. funeral services were held there on Sunday at 1:30 and at 2:00 from the Christ Lutheran church at Bazile Mills. Rev. H. Stegemann, pastor, officiated in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives. Interment was made beside his mother in Greenwood cemetery at Creighton.
