Description	:	Oscar was the son of August and Dorthea (Dora) Obenland. His parents were both German immigrants. He was born on December 8, 1890 in Clay Center, Kansas. Oscar had two brothers, Joseph Walter and George. He also had one sister, Dorthea. Oscar was the oldest child in the family. Oscar married Goldie Musselman in about 1911. He was born on December 8, 1890 in Clay Center, Kansas. Oscar had two brothers, Joseph Walter and George. He also had one sister, Dorthea. Oscar was the oldest child in the family. Oscar married Goldie Musselman in about 1911. They were probably married in Clay Center, but that has not been verified. About a year later Oscar went to work with his father in his plumbing business in town. During WWI, Oscar registered for the draft. He listed his occupation as a tinner and plumber, employed by his father. He was married, with one child. His description on the draft card says that Oscar was short, with a medium build, with dark blue eyes and light brown hair. Oscar and Goldie had three children; two boys and a girl. The boys were Donald and Robert and their daughter's name was Maxine. Living in Clay Center all of his life, Oscar was active in the community. He was a member of the local Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Along with his wife, Oscar was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. For many years, Oscar was a volunteer fireman. Goldie passed away in January, 1972. Oscar passed away in the Clay County Hospital on October 26, 1972, just 9 months later.
