He was born Nov. 15, 1914, to Clyde and Mary (Hammond) Blount at Macksville. He married Phyllis Betzer on March 8, 1940, at Coldwater. She preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1993. He was a lifetime resident of Comanche County. He attended Salt Fork Grade School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1933. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Antioch Community Church and Coldwater First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Greensburg R.V. Campers Club, Buttermilk Saddle Club and Loyal Hustlers 4-H Club. Survivors include one son, Rodney Blount and wife, Trish, one daughter, Judith Gillmore Morrison and husband, Milo; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clifford Blount; and one sister, June Whitzel. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Coldwater First Christian Church, with Chet Mendenhall presiding. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, with the family greeting friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. Memorials are suggested to the Antioch Community Church in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Box 417, Coldwater, KS
