He was born February 13, 1881, at Newport, son of Mark and Martha Elizabeth (Beir) and Mark Dotson. Oscar was married April 20, 1899, to Edith Virginia Baxter. The couple farmed in the country until 1930 when they moved to Morning Sun. Mr. Dotson was a member of the lOOF lodge of Wapello.
