Description	:	Oscar (Bill) Nordyke Oscar Edwin "Bill" Nordyke age 90 of Washington died Monday March 17, 2003 at the United Presbyterian Home following a 3 month illness. Funeral Services will be held at the Jones Eden Funeral Home 10:30 AM Wednesday with Rev. Edward Philgreen. Read More	Oscar (Bill) Nordyke Oscar Edwin "Bill" Nordyke age 90 of Washington died Monday March 17, 2003 at the United Presbyterian Home following a 3 month illness. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 PM Tuesday with the family being present from 7 to 8 PM. Bill was born November 22, 1912 in Leon, Iowa the son of Ernest and Emma E. (VanWinkle) Nordyke. He was married June 22, 1940 to Doris Albeta Matthews in Washington, Iowa He is survived by two daughters Connie Pence and husband Gary and Kathy Wallace and husband Joe both of Washington. There are 3 grandchildren Jennifer Pence Morgan; Joey Wallace and Jill Wallace and 5 great grandchildren; Maggie, Dylan, Jordan, Joshua, and Alexis. He is also survived by a 2 Sister in Laws Maurine Mills and husband Gilbert of Washington and Ina Nordkye of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Marion Leroy, Wallace Perry and Walter David and 6 sisters, Ethel May McNelley, Edna Pearl Bain, Grace Deloras Sharlow, Dorotha Marie Argo, Wilma Bernice Nordyke and Beulah Fern Davis. Bill came to Washington County in 1931 where he worked as a farm hand for the Karl Libe and Milford Anderson families. He was employe as a mechanic for 34 years until his retirement in 1975. After retirment he worked as a custidian at the United Presbyterain Home in Washington for 15 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and past member of the I.O.O. F. Lodge. A general memorial has been established.
