Description	:	GOODMAN, Mo. — Oscar Eugene Hudson was born January 27, 1929 to James Henry Hudson and Ethel Smith Hudson in Parsons, Kansas. He passed over into the next life on November 22, 2008, in Goodman, Missouri. Oscar served from 1951 to 1952 in the Korean War in the 826th Engineering Aviation Battalion, United States Army, in Pusan, South Korea. Read More	GOODMAN, Mo. — Oscar Eugene Hudson was born January 27, 1929 to James Henry Hudson and Ethel Smith Hudson in Parsons, Kansas. He passed over into the next life on November 22, 2008, in Goodman, Missouri. Oscar served from 1951 to 1952 in the Korean War in the 826th Engineering Aviation Battalion, United States Army, in Pusan, South Korea. He served 22 years as a fireman with the Pittsburg, Kansas Fire Department. Oscar was also a member of the American Legion for many years and he served as a deacon for several years in the Church of Christ church located in Pittsburg, Kansas. Oscar had many hobbies and interests during his lifetime. He bred and raised homing pigeons all his life and was active in training and racing his birds in local and regional clubs. Oscar enjoyed being in the woods and could often be found along the banks of creeks located in southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri either hunting, fishing, trapping or collecting arrowheads. Oscar was a Christian man who was truly loved by his family and many friends. Oscar was the 7th of 11 children born and several brothers and sisters have preceded him in death. Surviving him are four sisters and one brother, Hazel Malle of Pittsburg, Esther Askins of Girard, Bonnie Gaddy of Pittsburg, Thelma McNeely of Pittsburg, and Roy Hudson of Pittsburg. He was married to Lucile Daron of Cherokee, Kansas, who survives and Barbara Stacy of Goodman, Missouri who proceeded him in death. Oscar is also survived by five children; Gailen Hudson of Springdale, Arkansas, Randy Hudson of Van Horn, Texas, Sherry Bauder of Goodman, Mo., Ladonna Graham of Pittsburg, and Verlan Hudson of Pittsburg, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral services for Mr. Oscar Eugene Hudson are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Old Pleasant View Cemetery near Weir, with Pastor Darrel Gaddy officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Verlan Hudson, Daniel Hudson, Daron Hudson, Logan Hudson, Johnny Gaddy and Eddie Garner. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Garner and Marvin Hudson. In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to the Pittsburg Firefighters Charity Fund c/o 205 W. 7th Street, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
