Description	:	Oscar J. Harris Mr. Oscar J. Harris, 85, of 7400 Lake Road, Barker, N.Y., a native and former resident of Avery County, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Intercommunity Memorial Hospital in Newfane, N.Y. He was born June 16, 1920, in Banner Elk, to the late William Coy and Elizabeth Cora Guy Harris. Mr. Harris was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired farmer, having worked for Cornucopia Farms in Barker from 1953-1981. Survivors include three sons, Arthur Harris and wife, Vanessa, and Norman Harris and wife, Phyllis, all of Barker; and Mack Harris and wife, Norma, of Conover; one daughter, Linda Werth and husband, Douglas, of Gasport, N.Y. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankle Mae Harmon Harris; two brothers, Dewey Harris and Ottie Harris; and two sisters, Mrs. Gracie Presnell and Mrs. Bonnie Hicks. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Harmon Family Cemetery, with the Rev. James D. Hagaman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newfane American Legion Post No. 873, 6118 Corwin Avenue, Newfane, N.Y. 14108. Arrangements by Hampton Funeral Service.
