He was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Leominster, the son of William and Marie (Duteau) Cote , and had lived here before moving to the long-term care center in Fitchburg. Mr. Cote was a stationary engineer at the former General Electric Co. steam-turbine plant in Fitchburg for 27 years and then at Burbank Hospital, also in Fitchburg, for 10 years before he retired. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and cycling. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Rita (Cormier) Cote ; two sons, Philip Cote and Robert Cote ; a daughter, Linda Vezina; two brothers, Henry Cote and Edgar Cote -- all of Leominster; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Cecilia's Church, Restoration Fund, c/o the Rectory, 170 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
