He was born Feb. 3, 1873, north of Clarence, the son of John and Mary Lampkin Tracy. Following the death of his mother when he was 10 years old he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. John F. Read More	Clarence, Shelby, Missouri, May 1954 Oscar Thomas Tracy, 81, passed away on Friday, May 28, in Samaritan hospital at Macon where he had been a patient for nine days. He was born Feb. 3, 1873, north of Clarence, the son of John and Mary Lampkin Tracy. Following the death of his mother when he was 10 years old he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. John F. Amick of south of town. He lived with them until he was married to Miss Opal E. Evans, a niece of the Amicks, on Feb. 21, 1898. The Amicks contributed much to the success of his life both spiritually and materially. Mr. Tracy and his bride established their home on a farm west of Enterprise which was a gift from the Amicks. They lived near Leonard and Lentner and finally on his farm south of Clarence. He was a member of the Holiness church south of town. Survivors include six sons and a daughter, Herman of Galesburg, Ill.; Homer of Canton, Ill., Leroy of south of Clarence and Lynn and Glenn who live at the farm home, Lawrence Tracy of Canton, Ill., Mrs. Frank Burkhart of near Macon and a sister Mrs. Edna Glahn of Lewistown, Ill., 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, his wife, who died on Oct. 26, 1950, four brothers, Delmar Claud who died in infancy, William E. Tracy, Harry Orval and Albert Tracy. A sister, Mrs. Laura Houghton passed away in 1920 and three half brothers also preceded him. Last rites were held Sunday afternoon from the Church of God (Holiness) church south of town at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Ernest Palmer of Moberly officiating. Interment followed in Maplewood cemetery. The six sons were casket bearers. All of the children and their families attended the services, the sister, Mrs. Glahn and a niece, Mrs. Merritt Mitchell and Mr. Mitchell of Avon, Ill. Barkelew & Hawkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
