Description	:	September 6, 1901, THE LANDMARK (Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina) -A deplorable tragedy was enacted here this morning about 8 o'clock in the death at his own hands of Osgood HEATH, the 15 year-old son of Mr. O. P. HEATH. Just how the accident happened is not known. Lying on the bed with a bullet hole through the heart lay the lifeless body of the boy who but just a few minutes before had finished his breakfast and left the table. Lying by his side was the pistol which told in some measure how the awful tragedy happened….. It is supposed that he lay down on the bed, picked up the pistol and began handling it.
