Coffin, 64, a life-long resident of Leavenworth, died Monday, Aug. 22, 1994, at her home. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, to Waldo and June (Chadwick) Richardson at Leavenworth, where she grew up and received her early education. She married Jack Skelton in June 1950 at Leavenworth. She worked for many years at the Tumwater Cafe. They moved to Tillamook, Ore., in early 1954, and returned to Leavenworth in the fall of that year. She married Eugene L. "Shag" Coffin on Feb. 3, 1959, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Leavenworth where they owned and operated Wenatchee Valley Auto Freight until 1980. She was a member of the Leavenworth Golf Club, past president of the women's division, past women's course champion, a member of the women's division traveling team and served as chairwoman of the annual Royal Lady Golf Tournament for several years. She was very active in Amberleaf Theater, the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, an originator of the Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival, instrumental in forming the Autumn Leaf Festival parade and active in the L.I.F.E. (Leavenworth Improvement for Everyone) study. She is survived by her husband, of the family home; a daughter, Pam Kiehn of Peshastin; a stepdaughter, Pat Hatmaker of Issaquah; three stepsons, Jack Coffin of Seattle, and Ken and Mike Coffin, both of Leavenworth; her mother, of East Wenatchee; a brother, Lyle of Tillamook, Ore.; two sisters, Lethal Baker of East Wenatchee, and Theda Nitschke of Lynnwood; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a son. Arrangements are by Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.
