Plowman, son of Fred S. and Margaret Salvel Plowman, was born Feb. 12, 1881 near Douds and died Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Van Buren County Memorial hospital at the age of 81. He had been a resident of the Davis Nursing home prior to entering the hospital. He was married to Alma Anson, who passed away in 1910. They were the parents of one son, Henry Plowman of Douds and one daughter, Mrs. Olive Bailey of Rudy, Ark., both surviving. He was latter married to Rosa Belle Poling, who passed away in 1943. To this union were born two daughters, Reva, who passed away in 1924, Mrs. Vyrene Zendejas of Fairfield and one son, James Plowman of Bayfield, Colo. Also surviving are two brothers, George and Nobel Plowman and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Ploss, all of Douds; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and masy(err) friends. A sister, Mrs. Minnie Hoskins of Douds passed away in 1961. Mr. Plowman's life was spent in the Douds community, where he was a farmer and a well contractor. Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Pedrich(err) Funeral home in Douds with the Rev. G. Basil Tadlock, Methodist pastor officiating. Interment was in the Leando cemetery.
