The 1920 census in the same location also lists Vernon E. and Ralph. By 1930, Ottie was a widow living at Iola, Allen, Kansas, with Vernon, 16; Ralph, 13; & Doris, 9. There is a Kentucky birth record for Vernon E. LaPlant 27 Aug 1913. Ralph & Doris were both born in Missouri. Family information lists the death of Ed LaPlant 16 July 1926 at Globe, Gila, Arizona, but his grave has not been located. He was born in Madison County, Missouri, in 1879, a son of Lewis LaPlant. One reference states that he was buried at the "Old Eagles" cemetery at or near Globe, but there does not seem to be a cemetery in Gila County, Arizona by that name. This reference states that he died four miles west of Roosevelt, Arizona on the Apache Trail Road. _________________________ (Jasper County, Missouri death notice) Ed LaPlant, 40 years old, a resident of Duenweg all his life up to four years ago, died at his home in Globe, Arizona, Friday, according to informaion received by Duenweg relatives. He is survived by a wife and four children at home, his mother, Mrs. R. L. McGee of Duenweg and C. E. LaPlant of Joplin, and two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Cooper of Commerce, Okla., and Mr. Otho Cannon of Duenweg. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
