Pastor Gary Hatcher officiated at the services. Otto Sterui of Davenport, and formerly of Monticello, died April 9 at his home in Davenport following a brief illness. Otto A. Steuri was born June 16, 1916 in Lovell Township, Jones County, IA, the son of Adolph and Frieda Lengenhager Steuri. He received his education in the rural schools near his home. Otto A. Steuri and Berdina Harms were married January 5, 1938 at SS. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Monticello. The couple farmed in Lovell Township from 1938 until 1947 and moved to Madison Township, where they farmed near Center Junction. Berdina died June 11, 1961. Otto continued to farm until 1971 when he retired. He lived in Anamosa until 1979 when he moved to Davenport. He is survived by three daughters, Janet Engelbart and Shirley Borkgren, both of Anamosa, and Betty Hartman of Portland, ME; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by two sisters, Frieda Eiben of Burlington and Edna Gadient of Monticello; three brothers, Herman Steuri and Donald Steuri, both of Monticello, Paul Sterui of Dyersville, and a special friend, Lucile Johnston of Davenport.
