Clausing, 64, of Warsaw, Ind., died of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon in Westminster, Colo., where he had been visiting his daughters for two weeks. He had been in ill health for several years. Clausing, 64, of Warsaw, Ind., died of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon in Westminster, Colo., where he had been visiting his daughters for two weeks. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Clausing came to Ottumwa in January of 1932 to work with his brother, Paul Clausing, at the Clausing Manufacturing Co. He was instrumental in building the Clausing Manufacturing Co. from a production and tooling standpoint and was superintendent of the plant. When the company was sold to Atlas Press Co. in 1950, he continued with this firm. He moved to Warsaw, Ind., in 1958 when the Atlas Press Co. moved the lathe operation there. He laid out their new plant at Warsaw and handled the large tooling job after the move. Mr. Clausing was born in Hardin county on July 24, 1895, the son of Louis and Minnie Saak Clausing. He was married to Alice Stark May 23, 1923 in Kansas City. She survives. Mr. Clausing enlisted in the army June 24, 1918 at Marshalltown and was discharged June 5, 1919. He was a member of O.B. Nelson Post No. 3 of the American Legion in Ottumwa. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Dale Clausing of La Crescent, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Lyda McConnell of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Bonnie Sauer of Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Elnora Gilfoyle of Westminster, Colo., five grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Clausing of Santa Fe, N.M., and Paul Clausing of Ottumwa; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Horn of Garnett, Kan. He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel with the Rev. Donald H. Gill, pastor of the First Christian church, in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will arrive late this afternoon and will be removed to the funeral chapel. A memorial has been established payable to the Heart fund in care of the Union bank.
