Description	:	Otto John "O.J." Ammenhauser Jr., 89, of Ottumwa, died at 9:30 p.m. April 20, 2020 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born December 31, 1930 to Otto J. and Mabel Davis Ammenhauser Sr. He married Anna M. Deiters on November 19, 1955 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa. A graduate of Catholic Central High School, he had been a resident of Ottumwa all of his life and had served with the U. S. Air Force. Air Force. He had worked for the Milwaukee-Soo Railroad, retiring as conductor. He was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation, Knights of Columbus Council #888 and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347. He enjoyed golfing, cooking, playing piano and especially spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife, Ann; his children, Tim (Aura) Ammenhauser of Senoia, GA, Lori (David) Hartley of Liberty, MO and Kathy (Terry) White of Cumming, GA; 10 grandchildren, Clint, Forrest, and Molly Ammenhauser, Dani Edson, Nicci, Alex and Sammy Hartley, Dustin, Brittny and Kourtny White; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex, Savannah, Lillian, Blakely, Liam and Hayden. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Jim Ammenhauser. Limited visitation will be open to friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rfh-ia.com. Private recitation of the Rosary and funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Father James Betzen C.PP.S. officiating. Military honors will be given by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. For those not able be inside the funeral home with the family during the service, you may watch the funeral live from Reece Funeral Home's Facebook page. Cremation will follow the services.
