Otto Julius Alborn was born Sept. 24, 1881, in Dallas County, near Perry. The son of Henry, and Mary Alborn he was one of l3 children, having 10 brothers and two sisters. He spent the first 20 years of his life on a farm near Perry, and as a young man came to" this community. In 1902 he was united in marriage to Anna Catherine Schmidt. They were the parents of five children: Kathryn, Mildred, Albert, another daughter and Darlow. Mildred died at the age of seven months. The Alborn’s lived on a farm northeast of Laurens for 40 years. Since retiring from the farm in 1942 they have lived in Laurens, with the exception of two years during which they resided in Fort Dodge. Although he lived in town, Mr. Alborn maintained an active interest in the farm throughout his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias for the last 30 years and was a past chancellor. Survivor's include his wife; two daughters, Kathryn (Mrs. A. W.) Runnsberg of Laurens and another daughter; two sons, Albert and. Darlow, both of Laurens; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Gottschalk of Perry; two brothers, Albert of Yale and George of Nettleton, Mo.; and other relatives. Among the relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Hattie Gottschalk, Perry; Mr. and Mrs. George Alborn and J. T. Pawsey, Nettleton, Mo.; Albert Alborn, Yale; and Virgil Alborn, Hamilton, Mo.
