Klanderud, 50, lifelong resident of this area, died Saturday of a heart attack at his farm home north of Obert. He was ill a short time. Funeral services were held at Our Saviour's Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Carl Grindberg officiated. Burial was in the Obert cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Gene Bottolfsen, LeRoy Heir, Wilbur Anderson, Edward Pinkelman, Clifton Stolpe and Vernon Stolpe. Mr. Klanderud is survived by his wife, four children, Karen, 14, attending Augustana Academy at Canton, S.D.; Elaine, 13, Mark, 11, and Marilyn, 8, all at home; a brother, Henry Klanderud of Wynot and three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Bottolfsen and Mrs. Martin Bottolfsen of Hartington and Mrs. Rachel Miller of Sunnyslope, Ariz. Otto Klanderud, son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Klanderud, was born June 23, 1908, at Hartington. He attended Red Wing Seminary at Red Wing, Minn., and graduated as valedictorian in 1931. Mr. Klanderud was married March 21, 1942 to Alvera Nelson of Newcastle. Mr. Klanderud was a member of the board of trustees of Our Saviour's Lutheran church for over 25 years and a member of the Lutheran brotherhood and school board. SEPTEMBER 1958 CEDAR COUNTY NEWS
